A one-year-old boy died after falling from a fifth-floor residential building in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong on Sunday. The boy’s parents were arrested on suspicion of ill-treatment or neglect of a child.
Hong Kong Couple Arrested After Son’s Fall
Police received a report at 10:37 a.m. after a resident found the child unconscious on the podium of Block 5 of Hanley Villa in Tsuen Wan.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the living room windows of the family’s unit were not locked or fitted with grilles, according to a source.
The 47-year-old father and mother were arrested on Sunday. The boy lived in the flat with his parents and a seven-year-old brother.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., both boys were playing in the living room while their mother was also in the room. The father was resting in a bedroom at the time of the incident.
The case is being investigated by the Tsuen Wan district crime squad.
