US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor spent a late evening in Bengaluru with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, discussing the growing India-US partnership while enjoying local street food.

India-US Partnership Discussed Over Street Food in Bengaluru

Surya hosted the ambassador in Karnataka’s capital, sharing masala dosa and filter coffee in Indiranagar. The discussion centered on trade, technology, and innovation, particularly following the recently finalized interim trade agreement between the two countries.

Surya said they had “an engaging conversation on the growing India US partnership” and introduced Gor to a ride in a local auto rickshaw, calling it “a memorable ride indeed.”

A video shared by Surya shows the two traveling through the city streets in an auto rickshaw, with Gor recording the scenery on his phone. Surya described Bengaluru as “India’s best city” and “India’s most happening city,” thanking the ambassador for his role in strengthening India-United States relations. Gor responded by calling Surya the “most incredible host” during his first visit to Bengaluru.

Surya noted that Ambassador Gor brings “uncommon energy and dynamism to diplomacy” and believes in the “limitless potential” of India-US ties. He also called Bengaluru the “crown jewel of the India-US partnership.”

Gor praised the city’s energy, from its startups to its street food, calling it unmatched. He thanked Surya for hosting him during his visit.

The visit follows Ambassador Gor’s recent arrival in India and the finalization of the framework for a long-pending interim trade deal. The arrangement includes reciprocal tariff reductions to 18 percent, and the removal of 25 percent penalty tariffs on India imposed over its Russian oil imports.
