About 140 U.S. service members have been wounded in the first 10 days of the conflict with Iran, the vast majority of which are minor, the Pentagon said Tuesday. The U.S. military has struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran during that period.

Of those wounded, 108 have already returned to duty, according to Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. Eight remain severely wounded “and are receiving the highest level of medical care,” he said.

Seven service members have been killed in combat, one in Saudi Arabia and six in Kuwait. Another soldier died in Kuwait due to a medical issue.

Operation Epic Fury: U.S. Strikes and Escalating Conflict

Air Force Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated at a news conference Tuesday, the 11th day of the conflict, that the U.S. military has struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned that Iran had yet to see the “most intense” of American military strikes, as the bombing campaign targets facilities producing one-way attack drones.

President Donald Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the U.S. had “completely destroyed” 10 inactive mine-laying vessels following reports of Iranian attempts to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil transport. U.S. Central Command later confirmed the destruction of 16 mine-laying vessels and released related footage.

Meanwhile, Iran launched new attacks on Israel and Gulf Arab countries, prompting further airstrikes by Israel on Tehran and in Lebanon.

Casualties and Regional Impact

At least 1,230 people have been killed in Iran, at least 480 in Lebanon, and 12 in Israel since the war began, according to officials.

Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry reported intercepting missiles launched towards Prince Sultan Air Base, which is partially used by the U.S. Air Force. The United Arab Emirates reported two additional deaths as nine drones struck the country, with nearly three dozen others intercepted, bringing the total conflict-related deaths in the UAE to six.

In Bahrain, an Iranian attack on a residential building in Manama killed a 29-year-old woman and wounded eight people.
