Iran’s army commander-in-chief called for vigilance against potential enemy movements, urging operational headquarters to monitor for threats “with utmost pessimism and accuracy.” The statement comes as U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested a resolution to tensions with Iran may be nearing, despite a buildup of American troops in the Gulf.
Iran Army Commander Calls for Vigilance
“No enemy troops should survive if adversaries attempt a ground operation,” the commander-in-chief, Amir Hatami, said according to state media. State media also shared footage of Hatami in a meeting with other army commanders, including a video call with approximately a dozen others. The timing of the footage could not be immediately verified.
President Trump has stated that the conflict with Iran is “nearing completion” and could potentially end within weeks. However, the increase in U.S. troops stationed in the Gulf has prompted concerns about possible preparations for ground operations.
