Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s last shah, has called for nationwide protests and strikes in Iran, urging citizens to “come to the streets” today and tomorrow from 6 p.m. local time. The call to action comes amid ongoing protests across the country and an internet blackout limiting access to information.

Reza Pahlavi Calls for Nationwide Strike

Pahlavi is attempting to position himself as a leading figure in the Iranian anti-government movement. He specifically called on workers and employees in key sectors – including transportation, oil, gas, and energy – to participate in a nationwide strike.

According to Pahlavi, protests continued across Iran for a second consecutive night yesterday. He praised the “courage and steadfastness” of the protesters, stating they had earned “the admiration of the world.”

Pahlavi added that he is “preparing to return to my homeland to be with you… when our national revolution is victorious,” and believes that day is “very close.”

He also asked former U.S. President Donald Trump to “please be prepared to intervene to help the people of Iran.”

An internet blackout had been in place for over 36 hours as of this morning, hindering access to Pahlavi’s message.
