Iraqi girls suffer their first loss in the West Asian Football Championship

/ The Iraqi girls’ national team lost to its Syrian counterpart, on Thursday, at the beginning of its journey in the fourth West Asian Federation Championship held in Jordan.

The match started at five o’clock in the evening, Baghdad time, at Prince Mohammed Stadium in the Jordanian city of Zarqa.

The first half ended with Syria leading by two goals to none. Syrian player Aya Al-Shamali scored the first goal in the 11th minute, and Khadija Ibrahim added the second goal in the 29th minute.

In the second half, the Syrian national team scored its third goal through Hayat Daayoub in the 60th minute, and then May Al-Jani scored the fourth goal in the 71st minute.

The match witnessed the expulsion of Iraqi national team player Rozen Muhammad in the 89th minute for accumulating cards.
