Israel has provided mediators with a list of Islamic Jihad members believed to possess information regarding the location of the remains of hostage Ran Gvili, according to reports Friday evening.

Search for Hostage Remains Intensifies

Along with the names of the individuals, Israel also shared relevant maps with the mediators, Channel 12 News reported. An Israeli official stated, “If Islamic Jihad truly wants to – Ran Givili can be home within a short time.”

Officials in Jerusalem believe the information was conveyed effectively and anticipate that searches in the Gaza Strip will be expedited as weather conditions improve. The expectation is for an immediate resumption of searches, guided by the maps provided to Hamas through the mediators.

Should no substantial progress be made, and Hamas fails to demonstrate a genuine effort to locate and return Gvili, the Coordinator for Prisoners and Missing Persons is prepared to travel to Egypt again. Israeli officials have clarified that Phase B of the deal will not proceed without Gvili’s return.

Meanwhile, Hamas officials claim there are “difficulties in determining” Gvili’s location, according to Channel 13 News.

Security officials in Israel recently identified potential leads regarding Gvili’s burial site, and preliminary field checks have begun to verify the information, Israel National News reported Thursday.
