Israeli settlers carried out coordinated attacks Friday across the occupied West Bank, targeting cemeteries, mosques, agricultural land, and Palestinian communities in Jenin, Nablus, and Bethlehem. The attacks occurred alongside widespread Israeli military invasions and reported instances of tear gas deployment and abductions.
Attacks on Religious and Civilian Sites
In the village of Bir al‑Basha, south of Jenin, settlers invaded the “Iraqi Martyrs Cemetery” using all-terrain vehicles and conducted provocative tours. Later, the same group blocked a road in the al‑Hafira area near Arraba, obstructing traffic and restricting resident movement.
In the Nablus district, settlers destroyed the contents of the Sheikh Mosque in Khirbet Tana, an area belonging to the lands of Beit Furik. Thaer Hanani, head of the Khirbet Tana Land Defense Committee, said the settlers vandalized the mosque’s interior and damaged fencing around nearby orchards.
Residents in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, were also targeted by settlers, reportedly under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. The assault triggered protests, during which soldiers fired live ammunition, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, causing multiple suffocation injuries among residents.
Invasions and Further Violence
In the Bethlehem district, dozens of settlers, accompanied and protected by Israeli forces, invaded the Solomon’s Pools area between al‑Khader and Artas. Israeli forces reportedly secured the site before allowing settlers access to the historic pools.
Israeli forces also carried out invasions in Qalqilia, Ramallah, Jenin, Tubas, and the Qalandia refugee camp. Later Friday evening, multiple invasions occurred across the Hebron district, with reports of tear gas being fired at residents, civilians being assaulted, property being damaged, and a Palestinian man being abducted during a home invasion in Dura.
All Israeli colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law. Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention prohibits collective punishment and acts of terror against civilian populations. Articles 49, 53, and 147 prohibit the transfer of populations, destruction of property, and pillage, respectively.
