Israeli forces detained over 30 individuals and seized a significant amount of weaponry in a series of operations across the West Bank over the past week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday.
West Bank Operations Yield Detentions and Weapons Seizures
Those arrested are suspected of ties to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to an IDF statement. The operations were conducted in collaboration with Israeli police and targeted multiple locations throughout the territory.
The IDF stated that all detained suspects and confiscated materials have been handed over to Israeli security agencies and police for further investigation.
Israeli security forces have increased activity in the West Bank in recent weeks, following a security cabinet decision on Sunday to deepen control over the occupied territory. The decisions included repealing a Jordanian-era law prohibiting land sales to Jews, removing special transaction permit requirements, and reactivating a state land acquisition committee that had been inactive for approximately 20 years.
