/ The Asian U-14 Tennis Championship concluded today, Saturday, in the capital, Baghdad, with the participation of 58 male and female players in a tournament that lasted 14 days, and Iraq won the girls’ category in the tournament.

The President of the Iraqi Federation, Saif Al-Ugaili, said in an interview with Agency, “The tournament witnessed strong competition among the participants,” noting that “The tournament was held with the support of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, the supervision of the Asian Federation, and the organization of the Iraqi Game Federation.”

He added, “The tournament took place on the tennis courts in Baghdad with success and high organization, and was divided into two parts. The first tournament was held for the period from 5-12 of this month, and the second for the period from 12-18 of this month.”

Al-Akili pointed out that “the results of the individual tournament resulted in the Iranian national team player Ramtin Rafi taking first place, and the Iraqi player Faisal Khaled Al-Qazzaz taking second place.”

He stated that “in the doubles event, the Yemeni duo Faris Al-Wazir and Muhammad Adel were crowned first place, and the Iraqi duo Faisal Khaled Al-Qazzaz and Mustafa Munir came in second place,” pointing out that in the girls’ event, “the Iraqi (Karen Alek) was crowned first place after defeating her compatriot in the last match.” Hawraa Munir, who came second.
