Latvia’s President Edgars Rinkēvičs and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa both issued Christmas messages to the nation on December 24th, offering messages of hope and reflection.
President Rinkēvičs’ Christmas Message
President Rinkēvičs shared a poetic message, stating, “May the darkness invite you to see the light. May the warmth of the heart conquer the cold. May the whirlwind of events help you let go of the unnecessary. May the daily rush be transformed into peace.” He concluded with a “Merry Christmas!”
Prime Minister Siliņa’s Christmas Message
Prime Minister Siliņa also opted for a poetic tone in her message, posted on social media. She wrote of appreciating connections with friends and family, offering support to those in need, and acknowledging the value of calling Latvia home. She ended with a message of faith, stating, “And above all – we believe that God can turn all things to the good,” and a “Merry Christmas!”
