Emergency services are responding to a rescue operation in Enniskillen after a paraglider crashed into the Lough Erne Hotel and Resort on Sunday.

Firefighters were called to reports of the incident shortly before 1pm. Four fire appliances, including the Specialist Rescue Team, are at the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a paraglider trapped on the roof of the hotel and deployed several ladders to reach the individual.

Lough Erne Resort released a statement confirming the incident, stating that a person believed to be flying a paraglider collided with the hotel property.

“Apart from the immediate vicinity of the incident, the resort is operating normally and bookings are not affected,” the resort said. “Until the emergency services have completed their work, access to the resort will be restricted to resort guests and patrons of our restaurants.”

The incident is ongoing.
