The Mackinac Bridge is closed to all traffic due to hazardous ice falling from the bridge cables and towers, according to the Mackinac Bridge Authority.
Mackinac Bridge Closure Due to Ice
The bridge was closed this morning, and there is currently no estimated time for reopening. The Mackinac Bridge Authority is monitoring conditions at various points along the structure.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area to allow maintenance vehicles to operate and to prevent approaching the bridge before it reopens.
Updates are available by tuning to AM 530 and 1610. Individuals can also receive notification of the bridge’s reopening by texting “MacBridge” to 67283.
