At least 14 people have died and 84 others were injured following a Bekasi train collision between a commuter line train and a long-distance train at Bekasi Timur Station in West Java on Monday night.

Chronology of the Bekasi Train Collision
According to witness accounts, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train departed Gambir Station for Surabaya at 8:30 p.m. local time on Monday.
At 8:52 p.m., a commuter line train (coded 5181B) bound for Jakarta struck a stalled taxi at a level crossing on Ampera Street. Consequently, another commuter train (coded 5568A) bound for Cikarang was held at Bekasi Timur Station.
The collision occurred at 8:57 p.m. when the Argo Bromo Anggrek train struck the commuter train at the station. The impact was severe enough that the locomotive penetrated halfway into the last carriage of the commuter train.
Casualties and Emergency Response
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) President Director Bobby Rasyidin confirmed that as of 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, the death toll reached 14 people.
The deceased have been transported to the Polri Hospital in Kramat Jati for identification. The 84 injured victims are currently receiving medical treatment at various healthcare facilities.
Government Support and Trauma Healing
Minister of Population and Family Development and head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Wihaji, stated that the government is prepared to provide essential support to the victims.
Wihaji expressed condolences and noted that his agency is ready to provide trauma healing, consultations, and family-related support to those affected by the disaster.
