Disruptive Rainfall and Flood Warnings
A Level 5 disruptive rain warning remains in effect, with severe thunderstorm warnings also issued for various regions. The wet weather is expected to continue for most of South Africa’s summer rainfall regions, extending into the autumn season.
The affected provinces experiencing disruptive rain include Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, North West, and the Free State. The public is advised to exercise caution and avoid flooded areas.
The Northern Cape and Western Cape, in contrast, are forecast to experience high temperatures. Residents in these areas are urged to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat.
The inclement weather is impacting areas during the Christmas period, with the wet spell expected to persist.
