Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Friday that a small, early-stage malignant prostate tumor was detected and successfully treated, stating he remains in “excellent physical shape.”
- Early-stage malignant tumor detected in the prostate with no spread or metastasis.
- Treatment was completed via targeted procedures, leaving no trace of the condition.
- Publication of the Benjamin Netanyahu medical report was delayed to prevent wartime propaganda.
Details of the Medical Condition
The condition was discovered during routine follow-up care following a previous surgery for a benign enlarged prostate. Doctors identified the malignant tumor at a very early stage, noting there was no metastasis.
Netanyahu stated that while doctors presented several options ranging from monitoring to intervention, he opted for immediate treatment. “When I am informed in time about a possible danger, I want to treat it immediately,” he said.
Treatment and Recovery
The prime minister underwent targeted treatment at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. He described the process as consisting of “a few short treatments” that allowed him to continue his professional duties without interruption.
According to the update, the procedure successfully removed the tumor and left no trace of the malignancy. Follow-up care has since confirmed that no signs of the condition remain.
Strategic Delay of Disclosure
The release of the medical report was delayed by two months. Netanyahu explained that the delay was intended to prevent the “terrorist regime in Iran” from using the information to spread false propaganda against Israel during the height of the war.
Netanyahu concluded his remarks by urging the public to prioritize their own health through routine medical checks and listening to physician instructions. He also offered support and wishes for a full recovery to those wounded in ongoing conflicts.
