/ The Newroz and Al-Karkh teams were able to defeat their rivals, on Thursday, in the sixth round of the Iraqi Stars Football League for the 2023-2024 season.
The match started at two-thirty in the afternoon in Sulaymaniyah and Wasit governorates.
The Newroz Club team won at Sulaymaniyah Stadium over its guest, Karbala Club, with a score of 3-0. The first half ended with Newroz leading with an unanswered goal for Karbala, which came in the 18th minute through Mortada Hadib.
In the second half, Newroz added his second goal through professional Ibrahim Gbadmosi in the 50th minute, and the same player returned to score a third goal for Newroz in the 82nd minute.
In the second match, the Al-Karkh Club team defeated its guest, the Dohuk Club team, with a free goal in the match that took place at Al-Kout Olympic Stadium.
The first half ended in a scoreless draw, and in the second half, Al-Karkh scored its only goal in the 66th minute, headed by professional Babakar Jibril, which was the first goal scored in Dohuk’s goal since the start of the league.
