Nicolás Cabré Shares Emotional Tribute After Brother Duilio’s Death

Actor Nicolás Cabré confirmed the death of his older brother, Duilio Cabré, through a heartfelt message published on his social media accounts. The artist, who fiercely guards his personal life from media exposure, shared a smiling photograph of the two brothers to accompany his public farewell.

Nicolás Cabré stated via Lanacion that he found it unbelievable to be writing this, but he was there, and with all the pain in the world he wanted to tell him that it was wonderful that he had accompanied him through those 46 years.

The actor noted that Duilio was one year and eight months older than him, and the siblings shared an exceptionally close bond throughout their lives. Outlets including Infobae reported that Duilio died at age 47, while other publications noted his age as 46. The family chose to keep the specific circumstances of the death private, with no official details released regarding the cause.

Nicolás Cabré expressed via Clarin.com that he knew Duilio always did the best he could with what he had, and he thanked him from the bottom of his heart, hoping he would rest in peace and meet up with everyone he missed so much, while noting that unfortunately it was now his turn to miss him and affirming that he loved him and would never, ever forget him.

Theatrical Performance Suspended at Paseo La Plaza

The sudden loss directly impacted the actor’s professional commitments. Production teams behind the play Ni Media Palabra announced the cancellation of the Sunday performance at Paseo La Plaza. The comedy stars Cabré alongside Mariano Martínez and Bicho Gómez, but producers immediately cleared the actor’s schedule so he could remain with his relatives.

The shock of Duilio’s passing follows a difficult succession of family losses for the television and theater star. In June 2025, Cabré mourned the death of his mother, Cristina Birckenstaedt. Years prior, in 2014, his father, Norberto Cabré, died of a heart attack while cleaning his taxi.

Remembering Duilio’s Life, Career, and Close Childhood Bond

Unlike his famous brother, Duilio maintained a low profile and stayed away from the entertainment spotlight entirely. He worked as a taxista, having inherited the taxi license and profession from his father after Norberto’s passing.

In past television appearances, including a 2019 interview on Mirtha Legrand’s program, Nicolás reflected on their upbringing and professional realities, noting that they had done absolutely everything together. Discussing his brother’s livelihood on air, the actor remarked that he faced difficult economic realities with dignity, working hard despite industry hardships.

Memories of their early years also surfaced through a television interview on Otro día perdido in September, where the actor shared childhood anecdotes. He recounted a strict domestic routine enforced when they were young boys, recalling how every surface in the patio had to be impeccably cleaned before they were permitted to play together.
