One person died after a motorcycle and car collision on State Highway 7 in Canterbury midday today. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist died at the scene, police said.
Canterbury Motorcycle Crash Causes Highway Closure
The crash occurred in the Hurunui area, prompting the closure of the state highway in both directions.
Motorists were advised to avoid the stretch of SH7 between Hammer Springs Rd and Culverden, located in Canterbury’s Tekoa Range.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the incident.
