The Philippine government is expanding internet access for students and teachers in several provinces through the distribution of free SIM cards, part of the Bayanihan initiative. The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) program aims to support online learning and access to government services in remote areas.

Free SIM Cards Distributed Across the Philippines

Over 1,400 students and teachers in Occidental Mindoro received free SIM cards from the DICT. The initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide and provide educational resources to those with limited connectivity.

In Ilocos Sur, the Bayanihan SIM cards have reached remote schools, furthering digital inclusion efforts. The program provides students and educators with access to online learning platforms and essential digital tools.

Students in Aurora’s remote areas are also benefiting from the DICT’s support, gaining access to online learning and government services. The program aims to empower residents with digital literacy and connectivity.

Tarlac students have also received free SIM cards from the DICT, enhancing their access to educational resources. The distribution is part of a broader effort to improve digital infrastructure and connectivity in the province.

Learners in disadvantaged areas of Kalinga are now able to access free internet through the government’s initiative. This program aims to provide equitable access to online learning opportunities for all students, regardless of their location or socioeconomic status.
