The Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a live firing of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile on Thursday, demonstrating precision-strike capabilities at high speed and extended range.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile integrates a cutting-edge guidance system and advanced maneuverability, enabling it to adapt to dynamic conditions, evade threats, and strike with precision and lethality.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf witnessed the firing alongside leading scientists and engineers. The president, prime minister, chief of defence forces, and services chiefs commended the participating units and scientists for achieving the milestone.

Strengthening Pakistan Navy Anti-Ship Missile Capabilities

The ISPR stated that the successful launch underscores a fusion of technological excellence and operational expertise. The exercise reflects the navy’s commitment to maintaining credible sea-based deterrence in the conventional domain and ensuring regional maritime stability.

This development follows the April 4 induction of the second PN MILGEM Class Corvette, PNS KHAIBAR, which marked a significant step in the service’s modernization and operational capacity.

Admiral Ashraf has emphasized the importance of a strong and technologically advanced navy to safeguard maritime interests and secure vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs). He highlighted that Pakistan’s strategic location along key maritime trade and energy corridors is a primary driver behind these modernization efforts.
