Schmoll adds, More realistically, if you are in a dark sky site, you’re going to see between 30 and 50.
For viewers in the UK and Ireland watching the solar eclipse on August 12, Royal Museums Greenwich advises that exact timings vary and weather conditions may cloud visibility, though general coverage increases further to the southwest. First contact is visible from 6.08pm in Scotland through to 6.18pm in Truro, Cornwall. Destinations in the UK will see the eclipse reach its maximum from 7.05pm to 7.15pm, and by 8.10pm the moon will no longer cover the sun in all areas.
