Philips Launches Sonicare Next-Generation DiamondClean 9900 Prestige Toothbrush

The latest iteration of the Sonicare DiamondClean line introduces sophisticated tracking capabilities designed to eliminate guesswork from oral hygiene. The device provides immediate feedback through a glowing ring on the base of the brush and a built-in touchscreen.

The touchscreen interface displays a mouth map, which divides the teeth and gums into 12 distinct segments. These segments are highlighted in blue or orange to visualize the effectiveness of the user’s brushing. If the system determines that certain areas require more attention, those sections glow orange on the display, signaling the user to perform a second pass.

Intensity Control and Pressure Sensitivity

Beyond tracking coverage, the 9900 Prestige incorporates safety features to prevent gum damage. The glowing ring on the base changes color to alert users when they are applying excessive pressure. To further protect the user, the toothbrush is equipped with pressure sensors that automatically adjust its intensity, ensuring the bristles operate with less force when the device detects the user is pressing too hard.

The device also offers significant customization through its touchscreen, allowing users to navigate between eight different cleaning modes. These options include settings for gum health, max clean, and sensitive brushing, catering to various oral care needs.

Launch Schedule and Pricing Expectations

While official pricing for the 9900 Prestige has not been disclosed by Philips, the market can anticipate a premium cost. Previous models in the DiamondClean line have retailed for $430, and the company expects this new version to carry an even higher price point. Following its initial launch in Europe and the United States this fall, Philips plans a broader global release for the product in 2027.
