PJ Walkin, of Springfield, 16 Amana Estate, Ballina, Co. Mayo and Tone Street, Ballina, has died following a short illness at Mayo University Hospital. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.
PJ Walkin: Life and Family
PJ was predeceased by his wife, Jean, his parents Paddy and Kitty Walkin, and his brothers Tony and John, as well as members of the Gilmartin family of Sligo.
He is survived by his sons, Alan and Garrett, and his daughter, Sinéad. He is also remembered by his grandchildren, Conor, James Sean Jean, Evan, and Molly, his partner Kathleen, daughter-in-law Jacqui, son-in-law Aidan, Alan’s partner Naz, his sister Maura Gannon, and his brothers Gerry, Eamon, Séamus, and Vincent.
He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a wide circle of friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will be held at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina (Eircode F26 V274) on Monday, January 12th, from 5:00pm until 6:30pm.
Requiem Mass will take place at St. Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina on Tuesday morning, January 13th, at 11:30am, followed by burial in Leigue cemetery, Ballina.
PJ’s funeral mass will be live streamed on www.ballinaparish.org.
