President Prabowo Subianto distributed aid to flood survivors and celebrated Eid al-Fitr with residents in Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh Province, on Saturday.
President Prabowo Celebrates Eid with Flood Survivors
Following Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Darussalam Mosque, President Prabowo met with local residents, handing out packages of basic necessities to representatives in front of the mosque. He then greeted the crowd gathered in the mosque courtyard, where he was warmly welcomed.
The head of state also inspected temporary housing constructed near the Darussalam Mosque for those displaced by the flooding. Before leaving Aceh Tamiang, President Prabowo addressed the media and extended further greetings to the public from his vehicle.
Residents continued to collect aid packages after the President’s departure.
President Prabowo was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto during his visit.
On Friday, March 20, President Prabowo extended his Eid al-Fitr greetings for 1447 Hijriah, with the government setting the holiday for Saturday, March 21, 2026. He emphasized the importance of togetherness among the nation’s citizens.
“My fellow citizens, all praise be to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala who has brought us all together on this day of victory. On behalf of myself, my family, and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, I wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah,” he stated in an official broadcast.
