Prabowo thanks Pakistan for supporting Indonesia’s health sector

President Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its support of Indonesia’s health sector, including the provision of medical personnel and expertise, during a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Indonesia Seeks Pakistani Health Expertise

Indonesia is currently experiencing a significant need for healthcare professionals. Prabowo stated that assistance from Pakistan in the form of doctors, professors, and experts would greatly benefit Indonesia’s health services.

“We have a vast need for doctors and dentists, and I am starting a massive program of education in this field. So, your assistance will be very strategic and critical for us. We really appreciate that,” Prabowo said.

The two leaders also discussed accelerating efforts to increase trade between Indonesia and Pakistan. Prabowo has directed his ministers to expedite cooperation in several key areas.

“Be assured that we want to move as fast as possible in all these fields; field of education, field of trade, field of agriculture cooperation, and science, technology,” Prabowo said.

Prabowo met with Sharif at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Islamabad. Accompanying Prabowo were Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

The meeting concluded with the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements in sectors including health and higher education.
