/ On Monday, Egypt launched the first locally manufactured missile launcher, called “Raad 200”, through companies affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production.

The Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Salah El-Din Mustafa, said, according to the government newspaper Al-Ahram, “The Raad 200 launcher is electronically controlled from inside the cabin.”

Mustafa explained that the “Raad 200” rocket launcher is 100 percent pure Egyptian manufacture, pointing out that it is equipped with a 385 horsepower engine and carries a 122 mm rocket launcher, and was manufactured in cooperation with three companies in military production, adding that the shooting system works unilaterally or in bursts. .

The announcement of the missile launcher came during the third international exhibition for defense and military industries, EDEX 2023, hosted by the Egypt International Convention and Exhibition Center in New Cairo, in which more than 400 exhibiting companies from 46 countries participate to showcase the latest technologies, equipment and military systems on land, sea and air.

The exhibition also witnessed, on Monday, the inauguration of the Egyptian “Al-Jabbar” frigate of the “Meko 200” model, which was manufactured and assembled at the Alexandria Arsenal of the Armed Forces, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.

Commander of the Naval Forces, Lieutenant General Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa, said during the opening of the exhibition, “The manufacture of 3 Go Wind frigates has been completed in cooperation with the French side.”

He added, “30 Rafale 2200 combat rifles and 11 Swift 28 launchers have been completed.”

He continued: “Today, the process of success in maritime manufacturing in the naval forces’ arsenals is being completed with the inauguration of the “Al-Jabbar” frigate, the “Miko A200” model, which was manufactured at the Alexandria arsenal by 100 percent Egyptian hands.”
