Reza Pahlavi: Iran to have elections, close ties with Israel

Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has assured readers that Iran is distinct from Iraq, vowing to avoid repeating the mistakes that followed the 2003 invasion. He outlined his “Iran Prosperity Project” as a roadmap for a smooth transition of power, aiming to prevent a power vacuum.

Addressing Concerns of Prolonged Military Presence

Pahlavi addressed fears of a long-term U.S. military presence in Iran, similar to the one established in Iraq after the assassination of Saddam Hussein. He explicitly stated, “Iran is not Iraq. We will not repeat the mistakes that followed that conflict.”

The Iran Prosperity Project

Pahlavi described the Iran Prosperity Project as a “detailed road map for national recovery,” designed to bypass the conditions that led to a prolonged U.S. military presence in Iraq. He believes this plan will prevent a power vacuum.

Call for Leadership and a New Constitution

Pahlavi stated that many Iranians have called on him to lead the transition, a call to which he has responded. He intends to draft and ratify a new constitution before holding “free elections under international oversight.”

Relationship with Israel

The new government, Pahlavi stated, would immediately recognize and establish relations with the State of Israel, a move he believes would “transform the Middle East.”

Gratitude to Former President Trump

Pahlavi expressed immense gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump for his support of the Iranian people and his role in recent events. He specifically praised Trump’s “moral clarity and decisive action” in withdrawing from the Joint Plan of Action in 2018, which he labeled an “irresponsible nuclear plan.”

Condemnation of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps

Pahlavi highlighted the recent deaths of Iranian citizens at the hands of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, calling on the “free world to stand with them.” He stated that Trump “will be remembered as the leader who stood with [the Iranian people] when it mattered most.”

Pahlavi concluded with a patriotic sentiment: “God bless America. Long live Iran.”
