Rita McNamara, nee Kennedy, of Kilmurry Court, Garryowen, and Lilac Court, Keyes Park, Limerick, passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2025, at University Hospital Limerick, surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Eddie, and grandson, Richard (Happy) Kelly.
McNamara is sadly missed by her sons, Turlough and Brian; daughter, Mary; special niece, Noreen Kennedy; grandchildren, Robert, Edward, Lisa, Evan, Lourda and Jordan; great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Bridie and Mary Imelda; Mary’s partner, Ger Ryan; nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Reposing will be held at Cross’s Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, on Monday, December 29th, from 5:30pm to 7pm.
The funeral will arrive at St. John’s Cathedral, Cathedral Place, on Tuesday, December 30th, for Requiem Mass at 11:30am, followed by burial at Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.
Family flowers only are requested. Donations, if desired, may be made to St Vincent’s Special School, Lisnagry Co Limerick.
