Entering the match, Reigns had never beaten Rollins in a non-tag-team match at a premium live event. Although he lost a Mask vs. Mask match to Ludwig Kaiser in May, Gable returned to Raw competing as himself and finally cinched in the Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring to defeat Penta for the Intercontinental Championship.

On Raw, the most formidable threat to Reigns’ title reign is the 2026 King of the Ring, Oba Femi, who defeated Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell on Night 1.
