Saudi Arabia qualifies for the round of 16 in the Asian Cup

/ The Saudi national team qualified for the round of 16 of the Asian Cup, by defeating the Kyrgyz national team, 2-0, on Sunday, in the second round of the group stage, at the Ahmed Bin Ali World Cup Stadium.

The first half ended with Saudi Arabia advancing with a free goal, which came in the 35th minute through Mohamed Kanu, and in the ninth minute of the first half, the referee of the match sent off Kyrgyzstan player Ezer Akhmatov.

In the second half, the referee of the match sent off Kyrgyzstan’s player, Kimi Merk, in the 52nd minute, so Kyrgyzstan completed the match with nine players, and the Saudi team scored its second goal in the 84th minute through Faisal Al-Ghamdi.

The Saudi Greens had opened their campaign in the first round with a last-minute victory over the Omani team with a score of 2-1, and with a victory over Kyrgyzstan today, they qualified for the round of 16, after their score became 6 points.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia’s victory today kept Kyrgyzstan from continuing in the Asian competition, especially after it was defeated in the first round by its Thai counterpart by two unanswered goals.
