Pakistani security forces have killed 41 militants in operations across Balochistan province, officials said. The raids targeted hideouts of armed groups and come amid rising violence in the region.
Balochistan Operations Result in Dozens of Militant Deaths
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, reported that the operations were conducted in the Harnai and Panjgur districts of Balochistan. According to the ISPR, these were Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs).
Al Jazeera reported that the military raided several hideouts of armed fighters, resulting in 41 deaths. TRT World also confirmed the figure of 41 militants killed in twin raids.
Dawn reported that security forces killed 41 terrorists during the IBOs. The operations were a response to increasing militant activity in the area.
In a separate incident, two policemen were killed in coordinated attacks by armed men in Pakistan’s southwest, according to Arab News PK. Details of this attack are still emerging.
