/ The Asian Tennis Confederation announced, on Wednesday, the participation of seven teams in the Asian Under-14 Boys Championship, scheduled to start this month.

The head of the Iraqi Tennis Federation, Saif Al-Ugaili, told that the Asian Federation announced the participation of seven teams in the Asian Championship scheduled for this month: Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Iran, India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

He added that the first tournament will be held for the under-14 “boys” category (doubles – singles) for the period from the 6th to the 11th of this month, while the second tournament competitions will be held for the period from the 12th to the 18th of this month.

Al-Ugaili indicated that Iraq will host the Asian Championship for the first time in the history of the game on the Baghdad tennis courts in the People’s International Stadium complex on the sixth of this month of October.

He explained that the federation has completed the organizational procedures in coordination with the Asian Confederation, and that the tennis courts are ready to host the Asian teams in the next tournament.

He stressed that the success of the organization and its completion in an ideal manner will enhance our chances of hosting larger tournaments and increase its credit with the Asian Confederation to grant us the holding of major tennis tournaments, especially since we are capable of organizing any tournament, regardless of its size, because we possess all the ingredients for success.
