Seven people were hospitalized on Saturday after a car fire in Buangkok Crescent, Singapore.

Buangkok Crescent Car Fire Sends Seven to Hospital

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to a fire involving a car on the ground floor of Block 980D Buangkok Crescent at approximately 8 p.m. on March 23.

Around 20 people had already evacuated the block before SCDF personnel arrived and extinguished the blaze using a water jet.

SCDF transported four individuals to Singapore General Hospital and three to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Vehicle fires in Singapore decreased to 226 in 2025, down from 257 in 2024. Four of the fires in 2025 involved electric vehicles, up from one case in 2024; three of those EV fires were attributed to electrical faults within the battery.
