/ Today, Thursday, the Iraqi Football Association held the draw for the professional futsal league, while the head of the federation’s committee concerned with the game stated the latter’s determination to apply the (VAR) technology in this season’s matches.
The Federation said in a statement received by Agency, “The Futsal and Beach Football Committee of the Iraqi Football Federation held, today, Thursday, the draw for the Professional Futsal League, with the participation of 15 teams, in the presence of the First Vice President of the Federation, Ali Jabbar, the head of the committee, Ali Abdul Hussein, his deputy, Ziad Shamil, and members of the committee.” And club representatives.
The statement added that First Deputy Ali Jabbar praised the cooperation and response of the clubs and supporting bodies that succeeded in achieving the requirements for participation in this league, and it came as a continuation of the development steps sought by the Iraqi Football Federation.
He explained that “the previous edition of the league was successful by all standards, and witnessed strong competition among the participating teams,” stressing that “continuing to organize the league will advance the game and serve the public interest, especially our national futsal team.”
Jabbar pointed out, “The Iraqi Football Association intends to implement the mouse (video assistant) technology this season in cooperation with the participating clubs.”
The statement explained, “Friday, 12/1/2023, will be the start date of the league, as the first round matches will meet:
1- Baghdad Municipality – Police.
2- Police mechanisms – Al-Wasat refineries.
3- Naft Al-Wasat – Nineveh.
4- Water Resources – Eastern Province.
5- Basra Oil – Popular Mobilization Forces.
6- Basra Youth – Basra Municipality.
7- Air Defense – Southern Gas.
8- Air Force (waiting).
