/ Al-Sharqat Sports Club, the representative of Saladin Governorate in the Premier Football League, complained of the lack of financial support in its various forms except for an “insufficient” grant from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, criticizing the local government’s “negligence” of the club and the governor’s refusal to receive a delegation from it.

The club’s president, Dhamir Abdel Razzaq, told Agency, “Technically, we are fully prepared to compete in the Premier League after strengthening the team with several contracts and the presence of players capable of competing and reaching the golden square. However, the stifling financial crisis threatens the club’s progress, and our participation is a major financial risk in light of the circumstances.” The club’s collapsed finances.

He stated that “the team participates by relying on donations and borrowing from multiple parties to secure the requirements for football participation,” noting that “the club is standing on its feet thanks to donations, but this matter will not last long.”

Abdel Razzaq confirmed that his club received a grant from the Ministry of Youth and Sports amounting to 15 million dinars, “through mediation and intervention from the Minister of Education and one of the deputies of Sharqat, and it does not even meet the expenses of the salaries of the players and team owners, and the grant is delivered every three months.”

The president of Al-Sharqat Club revealed “a deduction and rationing of the club’s salaries by 50-80%, to include the financial grant for all those eligible and who have not received salaries for three months,” criticizing “the neglect of the Salah El-Din government and officials of their representative in the Premier League despite the demands of the sports fans and the importance of participation, which is considered an achievement for Salah.” Debt”.

He continued his criticism of the local government by saying, “The governor of Salah al-Din refused to even receive the club delegation or listen to its legitimate demands, even though they are in the interest of the governorate and in an important vital detail, which is sports.”

He concluded by saying, “If support was available, we would have reached advanced stages in the Premier League this season, but we are suffering from neglect that no Iraqi governorate has witnessed throughout history.”

Al-Sharqat Club will begin the Premier League matches by meeting the Peshmerga Club at Al-Sharqat Stadium today, Friday.
