/ The Iraqi girls’ national football team under the age of 17 will leave today, Tuesday, for the Jordanian capital, Amman, to participate in the fourth West Asian Outdoor Football Championship, scheduled to start on the ninth of this month.

Member of the Football Association and head of the Women’s Committee, Rasha Talib, said in an interview with Agency, “The Iraqi women’s national team has completed its preparations before participating in the West Asian Championship scheduled for Amman after a series of training camps held by the Federation internally and externally, the last of which was in Iran.”

She added, “Our team will play three matches in the fourth edition of the tournament,” noting that “in its first match, it will face the Syrian national team on the ninth of this month, and will play against the Jordanian national team on the eleventh of the same month, then it will meet the Lebanese national team on the 13th of this month.” He will play his last match on the 15th.”

She explained, “The results that will emerge from the matches will determine the ranking table to determine the final positions in the West Asian Championship, according to the points that each team will have.”

She indicated that “yesterday, the team conducted its last training units in the capital, Baghdad, in preparation for participation in the Fourth West Asian Cup Championship, which is hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for the period 9-15 of this month.”

The coach of the women’s team, Ali Hassan, had chosen 23 players to represent Iraq in the West Asian Outdoor Football Championship held in Jordan.
