/ The Embassy of the Republic of Egypt in Iraq announced today, Friday, the launch of presidential elections for Egyptians abroad, while sending a message to the members of the Egyptian community in Iraq.
The Egyptian Consul in Baghdad, Ahmed Ibrahim Ali, said in a statement received by Agency, “Today the presidential elections began for Egyptians abroad and the opening of ballot boxes for the Egyptian community in Iraq,” indicating that “the elections are being held” under the supervision of the subcommittee in Baghdad, and the headquarters of the consular section has been determined. The Embassy of the Republic of Egypt in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to be the official website for Egyptian citizens to cast their vote.”
The consul added, “The presidential elections will continue for three consecutive days, starting from 1-3 December 2023, specifically from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and are divided into two periods daily,” noting that “the first period begins from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the afternoon, and the second period starts from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in accordance with the instructions of the National Elections Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt.”
The Egyptian embassy in Iraq called on the Egyptian community in Iraq to “participate in the presidential elections and exercise their constitutional right.”
