Pakistan Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested three suspects Monday allegedly involved in facilitating a banned organization by radicalizing students and distributing extremist material in Karachi. Explosives and literature linked to Fitna-al-Hindustan were recovered during a joint operation in the Chakragoth area of Korangi.
Karachi Operation Targets Extremist Network
The arrested suspects have been identified as Yasir Arafat, Khuda Bakhsh and Zahid Hussain alias Barakzai. The operation was conducted based on intelligence information coordinated between the Sindh Rangers and CTD.
Authorities recovered five kilogrammes of explosive material, 10 metres of prima cord, three detonators, one kilogramme of ball bearings, 250 books containing extremist literature, and a laptop from the suspects’ possession.
Officials stated the suspects were allegedly concealing explosive material at a secret location intended for use in terrorist activities targeting sensitive areas of Karachi. The arrested men, along with the recovered materials, have been handed over to police for further legal action.
The Rangers spokesperson urged the public to report suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest Rangers check post, the Rangers helpline at 1101, or the Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp number 0347-9001111, assuring confidentiality to informants.
