The Ateneo School of Government (ASoG) is offering a training course on strategic public procurement for local industrial development, focusing on the “Tatak Pinoy” strategy. The course, scheduled for March 3-4, 2026, will be held at the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Heights Campus.

Strategic Public Procurement and the Tatak Pinoy Strategy

The Executive Education Program at ASoG designed the course to equip local government officials with the necessary policy foundations, institutional understanding, and practical tools to implement the Tatak Pinoy Strategy at the provincial, city, and municipal levels. It will focus on how local government units (LGUs) can operationalize national industrial policy through local planning, procurement, MSME development, clustering, and coordination with national government agencies.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to explain the legal basis, objectives, and structure of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy and Seal; identify concrete roles of LGUs in implementing the strategy; apply Tatak Pinoy principles in LGU procurement in compliance with the New Government Procurement Act; design LGU interventions to strengthen local value chains; support MSMEs, cooperatives, and clusters in qualifying for the Tatak Pinoy Seal certification; and prepare a draft LGU Tatak Pinoy Action and Compliance Plan aligned with national requirements.

The course is anchored on the Tatak Pinoy Act and the President’s approval of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy, emphasizing applied implementation. Participants will translate national mandates into local action plans to strengthen domestic value chains, support MSMEs, and comply with procurement and industrial policy requirements.

The training is designed for senior officials, planners, procurement officers, and local economic development staff responsible for aligning LGU actions with national development strategies. The course fee is Php 15,000, which includes a certificate upon successful completion, training materials, access to post-training resources and peer learning opportunities, and meals.
