The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. A postmortem examination was carried out at Navan mortuary.

Ms. Terrell was visiting Ireland with family when the incident took place. Her teenage daughter, Margo, was airlifted to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street with serious injuries.

The driver and a third passenger (both female, ages not yet released) were taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, also with serious injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was transported to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Ms. Terrell’s husband, Mark, shared a message on social media Friday, describing his wife as his “beautiful wife and best friend.” He stated that Margo has undergone multiple surgeries and will require another on Monday, remaining sedated until after the procedure and likely into Tuesday.

“We have a very long road ahead of us with all of this,” Mark Terrell wrote. He asked for prayers for his children and for Margo’s full and speedy recovery, hoping to return to the U.S. in 3-5 weeks.

Ms. Terrell’s sister, Cassie, has established a GoFundMe page to help cover medical and travel expenses related to Margo’s care and the family’s needs.

The GoFundMe page details that funds will be used for emergency travel for the Terrell’s other children to reach Ireland, medical and hospital costs for Margo, lodging and transportation for Mark while he remains in Ireland, and the cost of transporting Courtney Terrell’s remains back to the United States.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant camera footage (including dash-cam footage) from the N51 at Boyerstown between 7:15 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Navan Garda Station at 046 903 6100, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing, according to a garda spokesperson.
