Two children hit by van in Croxteth as officers search for one of casualties

Police are searching for a 10-year-old boy who left the scene after two children were struck by a van during a Croxteth van collision on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Altcross Road at 4:34 p.m. on April 21 following a report from the North West Ambulance Service regarding the incident.

A seven-year-old child was transported to the hospital for treatment. The 10-year-old boy left the scene with another individual, and Merseyside Police are currently working to locate him.

The driver of the van remained at the scene of the collision.

Traffic and Road Closures in Croxteth

The roads policing unit established a closure from Altcross Road to Riviera Drive. Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported at 5:07 p.m. that Altcross Road was partially blocked in both directions from Riviera Drive to Moss Way.

Altcross Road had reopened to traffic by 7:20 p.m.
