Ukrainian engineering troops eliminated 678 Russian soldiers in February through the use of defensive barriers, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. The operations, supported by Ground Forces, Unmanned Systems Forces, and Air Assault Forces, also destroyed 120 units of weapons and military equipment, and 19 additional military targets.
Ukrainian Engineering Units’ February Operations
Data indicates that the majority of these strikes were carried out remotely using unmanned aerial vehicles, reducing risks to Ukrainian personnel. Modern warfare has become a “war of technologies,” with remote mining units utilizing drones and robotic systems to obstruct Russian advances and target assets.
Previously, combat engineers faced dangers working manually in hazardous areas. The implementation of unmanned systems has allowed for faster and more precise task completion.
The destruction of enemy equipment and personnel is recorded in real time and entered into the DELTA situational awareness system, ensuring data objectivity and reliability, according to the General Staff of the AFU.
Ukrainian Engineering Troops continue to enhance their defensive capabilities by creating new barriers and collaborating with other units to inflict losses on Russian forces. Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense recently launched a new radar tool within the DELTA Mobile app, alerting service members to incoming air threats and visualizing their movement. The feature provides individual warnings and customizable alert settings.
