Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that ICE officers were attempting to free their vehicles from snow when a woman allegedly tried to run them over with her vehicle. The incident occurred during an “enforcement action” in an unnamed city.

ICE Officers Confronted During Enforcement Action

Noem was speaking near the U.S.-Mexico border when she addressed the situation. She said the ICE agents’ vehicles became stuck in the snow while they were carrying out an enforcement action.

According to Noem, as the agents were trying to push their vehicles out, a woman “attacked them,” allegedly attempting to run them over with her car. An ICE officer then fired a weapon “defensively to protect himself and the people around him,” Noem said.

Noem characterized the woman’s actions as “domestic terrorism” and affirmed her commitment to protecting ICE officers. She added that over 2,000 additional agents have been deployed to the city in recent days.
