Performers Vaida Genytė, Egidijus Sipavičius, and Oneida Kunsunga have announced a collaborative concert tour titled Gala žvaigždės. The program, which features a professional string quartet, pianist Giedrius Nakas, and guitarist Kostas Balčiūnas, will debut on October 16 in Šiauliai and continue through December 27 with performances across Lithuania. The tour is presented by the artists and their team, who promise an elegant experience that integrates classical music, traditional variety stage melodies, and theatrical aesthetics.
The "Gala žvaigždės" Musical Concept
The upcoming concert series brings together three prominent performers—singer and actress Oneida Kunsunga, singer Vaida Genytė, and singer Egidijus Sipavičius, who is often referred to as a gentleman of the stage. The production is designed to be more than a standard concert; the creators are developing new arrangements for the music, as well as a refined, subtle scenography and exclusive costumes. These elements are intended to allow the audience to immerse themselves in a festive, elegance-filled musical journey.
According to the performers, the project aims to bridge different genres into a unified narrative. Oneida Kunsunga explained the vision behind the production: „Norėjosi sukurti koncertą, kuriame susitiktų skirtingi muzikos ir teatro žanrai, bet juos vienytų pakili, šventinė emocija. Vakaro dramaturgija sukurta taip, kad kiekvienas pasirodymas būtų savarankiška patirtis, o visas renginys – lyg vientisas, elegantiškas pasakojimas“.”
For the artists, the collaboration offers a unique opportunity to engage in musical dialogues that would not occur in their solo work. Vaida Genytė highlighted the significance of their diverse backgrounds: „Visi trys esame labai skirtingi, todėl scenoje gimsta netikėti muzikiniai dialogai. Man atrodo, būtent tai ir padaro šią programą ypatingą – kiekvienas į ją atsinešame savo spalvą, tačiau kartu sukuriame vieną bendrą istoriją“.”
Repertoire and Artistic Direction
The setlist is eclectic, drawing from both Lithuanian and international sources. Audiences can expect to hear songs by actors such as Kostas Smoriginas’ „Paukščiai“ and Saulius Mykolaitis’ „Matrica.“ The program also includes selections from Lithuanian musicals like „Velnio nuotaka“ and „Meilė ir mirtis Veronoje,“ alongside international film classics such as „Gladiatoriusand „Didysis šou meistras.

Nostalgic Lithuanian variety hits, including „Riešutų žydėjimas,“ „Laukų gėlė,“ and „Vasara, vasara,“ will be featured alongside a string-arranged version of the Italian classic „Bella Ciao“ and Egidijus Sipavičius’ own song, „Diskoteka,“ which will be performed with Genytė and Kunsunga. Egidijus Sipavičius noted the creative appeal of the project: „Man visuomet įdomu ieškoti netikėtų muzikinių derinių. Šioje programoje klasikinis skambesys susitiks su estrada ir teatro elementais, todėl, tikiu, žiūrovų laukia išties išskirtinis vakaras.”””””
The musicians are expected to provide more than just accompaniment. The string quartet will create musical textures to supplement the works with new colors, while the piano and guitar are intended to provide further dynamics and emotion to the program.
