Police are investigating a suspicious death in the Gordon Head area of Saanich, British Columbia. One person is currently in custody in connection with the incident.
Saanich Police Investigation
Saanich Police initiated an investigation into the suspicious death that occurred inside a residence in the 1600-block of Blair Avenue on January 5.
The following day, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) took over the investigation. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and that no other individuals are outstanding.
Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as detectives continue their investigation.

The VIIMCU is a joint team comprised of RCMP, Victoria Police, Saanich Police, Central Saanich Police and Oak Bay Police, along with civilian employees. It investigates homicides and missing person cases where criminality is suspected across Vancouver Island, the Northern and Southern Gulf Islands, and some remote parts of the B.C. Coastline.
