/ On Wednesday, the Iraqi expatriate in America, Zaid Yousef Juwaida, accused what he described as “haters” of misleading the Iraqi Football Association regarding the issue of the expatriate player Muntadhar Majid, criticizing at the same time the statement issued against him by the Federation.
Juwaida said in a phone call with Agency that he was “shocked by the Football Association’s statement declaring its innocence and not having any relationship with it, expressing his regret for the ‘unjust’ statement against him despite his long service for the Iraqi national teams.”
He added, “The statement came after the Federation was led to believe that the expatriate player Muntadhar Majid refused to represent the Iraqi national team due to pressure from him”, that is, Youssef Juwaida. The Football Association issued a statement not to deal with him through its official website.
Juwaida confirmed that he “continues to communicate with the player and convince him to play in the Iraqi national team, as he has served and continues to serve Iraqi football for years and with expatriate players to this day,” indicating that he “brought a number of the most prominent players from the national team who represented Iraq in the Olympic and national teams without compensation, purpose, or compensation.” “The only goal is to serve his country.”
He pointed out that “he does not need a position in the Union, and the Union has previously approached him many times to work in the Expatriates Committee, but he originally rejected the idea of working in the Expatriates Committee because the role of the committees in the Union is purely administrative in order to complete the files and extract the papers,” indicating that “he believes that there are haters who were the ones who sent Wrong information was provided to the Union, and this came out of jealousy and envy, because it is respected by parents of expatriates in different countries.”
He explained, “I have been moving for a long time and have worked professionally without benefiting from the testimony of the players and their families, especially since I work as a professor at an American university, and I do not need financial benefit because I receive a large salary, but what I did was great volunteer work out of love for Iraq, and this is what upset those close to the federation.” They wanted to keep me away by any means possible.”
Juwaida pointed out that “the player Montazer assured me that he is ready to represent the Iraqi national team, and that he has no objection or objection to his joining the national team,” pointing out that “he worked out of his love for his country in order to convince Montazer’s family and Montazer himself to be on the list as a basis for the new list,” adding By saying: I did not seek to obstruct the player’s attendance and joining the national team permanently.”
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Football Association dissolved its committees, including the Professionals Committee, and a new committee has not been formed yet.
The Iraqi Football Association issued a statement on its official website in which it confirmed that “Zaid Youssef Juwaida” does not represent the federation, neither from afar nor from afar, nor does he work in its working committees, and he acts individually.
