14 Yemeni soldiers killed in a suicide attack »

Affiliate – INA: 14 Yemeni soldiers were killed today, Tuesday, in a suicide attack in the Shabwa Governorate in southern Yemen, which is witnessing a conflict, as an army source in the region announced. The attack occurred while violent battles had been taking place since last Sunday between the southern separatist forces and the forces of President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi in the largest city in the south, Aden. The attack targeted a checkpoint belonging to a force supported by the United Arab Emirates in eastern Ataq, the largest city in Shabwa, said the source, who requested to remain anonymous, blaming extremist Islamists. Another security source in Shabwa said that the bombing resulted in at least ten deaths. The governorate is under the control of the government supported by Saudi Arabia, which leads a military coalition that includes especially the UAE and has intervened since 2015 in Yemen against the Houthis.
