Erbil hosts the Ministry of Interior Martial Arts Cup competitions »

The Ministry of Interior Martial Arts Cup Championship competitions, which are held by the Directorate of Physical Training and Police Games, and under the supervision of the Iraqi Bagot Committee, will begin in Erbil Governorate today, Thursday.

The official in charge of sports competitions at the Ministry of Interior, Captain Abbas Karim, said in a statement to Al-Sabah Sports newspaper, followed by the (INA), that “the Bagout Championship, which is considered a martial art, will start today in Erbil with the participation of more than 12 directorates representing various military types and from 6 governorates.” He added, “The tournament will be closely monitored by the coaches in order to choose the lineup of the national teams in preparation for entering into foreign competitions.”
He stated, “The tournament includes many sporting and martial arts events, including (taekwondo, boxing, judo, kickboxing, muay thai, kyokushinkai, karate, baguette, and wrestling).
In turn, the representative of the International Federation, Coach Mushtaq Eidan, said, “The Al-Bagout administration aspires to raise the game to the ranks of advanced countries in this sport, adding that the committee has held many tournaments, training and arbitration courses since its recent establishment, and is striving for the best.”
