Wits University will host a Welcome Day for first-year students on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Braamfontein Campus West Dig Fields. The event will feature an address by Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Zeblon Vilakazi.
Wits University Welcome Day for First-Year Students
Wits University cordially invites all first-year students, along with their parents or guardians, to attend Welcome Day. Gates will open at 08H00, with the program beginning at 10H00.
Limited seating is available, with a maximum of two guests permitted per student. Sturrock Park will be open for administrative assistance, including student card collection, Wits email access setup, and queries regarding residences, fees, NSFAS, and international student support.
Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to account for traffic and parking, or utilize e-hailing services for drop-off.
The event will also feature opportunities for students to explore campus activities.
